Lahore Qalandars cruised to a comfortable 63-run victory against Quetta Gladiators in the 10th match of the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi.

The match started with Lahore Qalandars winning the toss and electing to bat first. The Qalandars got off to a steady start, with their opening pair of Fakhar Zaman and Abdullah Shafique putting on a solid 46-run partnership before Shafique was dismissed for 17.

However, the real hero for the Qalandars was their skipper Sohail Akhtar, who came in at number three and played a blistering knock of 93 runs off just 59 balls. Akhtar’s innings included nine fours and four sixes and was the cornerstone of the Qalandars’ innings.

Despite a few late wickets, Lahore Qalandars managed to post a competitive total of 193 runs for the loss of six wickets. Mohammad Nawaz was the pick of the bowlers for Quetta Gladiators, finishing with figures of 2/23 in his four overs.

In response, Quetta Gladiators got off to a disastrous start, losing opener Jason Roy for a duck in the very first over. Mohammad Hafeez and Umar Akmal tried to steady the ship, but both were dismissed within the first seven overs, leaving the Gladiators reeling at 44/3.

From there on, it was all downhill for Quetta Gladiators, as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Iftikhar Ahmed was the only batsman who provided some resistance, scoring 42 runs off 31 balls. However, his innings came to an end in the 17th over, and the Gladiators were bowled out for just 130 runs in 18.2 overs.

Lahore Qalandars’ bowling was impressive, with all their bowlers chipping in with wickets. Haris Rauf was the pick of the bowlers, finishing with figures of 3/28 in his four overs, while Rashid Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and David Wiese all picked up two wickets each.

Overall, it was a comprehensive victory for Lahore Qalandars, who put up a clinical performance with both bat and ball. The win takes them to second place in the points table, behind Islamabad United.

As for Quetta Gladiators, they have a lot of work to do if they are to turn their fortunes around in the tournament. They are currently languishing at the bottom of the points table with just one win from five matches.

In conclusion, Lahore Qalandars’ dominant performance against Quetta Gladiators was a testament to their all-around skills and team spirit. The victory will give them a much-needed boost as they look to build momentum in the tournament.
