Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that Pakistan will host the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in 2027, calling it a moment of pride and responsibility for the country.

He emphasized the importance of beginning preparations well in advance to ensure a successful summit. As part of the plan, the government has launched projects to improve Islamabad’s infrastructure and appearance.

The prime minister noted that Constitution Avenue is being upgraded, while electric vehicle transport has been introduced to promote eco-friendly mobility.

He said the government aims to make Islamabad a modern and attractive capital for both residents and international visitors.

The upcoming SCO summit is expected to bring global attention to Pakistan’s diplomatic role and development agenda.
