A teenage boy was killed in a horrific incident in Sialkot after two of his friends allegedly sprinkled petrol on him and set him on fire, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.

According to police, the act was carried out over a personal grudge. The victim sustained critical burn injuries and later succumbed to them.

Relatives of the deceased staged a protest on Gujranwala–Pasrur Road, demanding the immediate arrest of the culprits. They alleged that the incident occurred at a petrol pump next to the Satrah Police Station, but police were initially reluctant to arrest the accused.

District Police Officer (DPO) Sialkot, Faisal Shahzad, took notice of the case and ordered swift action. Police subsequently arrested one suspect, identified as Intezar Ali, while raids are ongoing to apprehend the second accused, Taimur.

DPO Shahzad assured the victim’s family that justice would be served. “No one will be allowed to take the law into their own hands. The accused will face trial, and the demands of justice will be fulfilled,” he said.
