Pakistan’s ambassador to Japan, Raza Bashir Tarar, has confirmed the safety of all Pakistanis in Japan following a powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 7.6. The embassy has established a hotline for Pakistanis in distress and has urged expatriates in affected areas to adhere to local authorities’ instructions. The earthquake triggered tsunami warnings and evacuation orders in several coastal prefectures, including Ishikawa, Niigata, and Toyama.

The Japanese government has issued alerts, and Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has urged residents to remain vigilant and prepare for potential aftershocks. The quake caused significant disruptions, including power outages, transportation halts, and service interruptions.

However, the Nuclear Regulation Authority has reported no irregularities at nuclear power plants along the Sea of Japan. The ambassador’s reassurance and the embassy’s proactive measures aim to provide support and guidance to the Pakistani community in Japan during this challenging time.
