Saudi PIF had a strong financial year in 2025, with revenue and profit rising sharply. The Saudi sovereign wealth fund reported $120 billion in revenue and $17 billion in profit, showing its growing role in the country’s economy.
The Public Investment Fund (PIF) is Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund. Founded in 1971, it invests money in companies, industries and major projects in Saudi Arabia and around the world. PIF managed more than $900 billion in assets in 2025. This is a huge increase from about $530 billion in 2021 and $150 billion in 2015.
PIF Revenue and Profit Rise:
PIF’s revenue increased by 9% during 2025. At the same time, its net profit more than doubled to $17 billion.
The fund said stronger results came partly from companies in its investment portfolio. Higher dividends and returns from financial investments also helped improve its performance. However, not every investment gained value. Some assets faced lower valuations because of changing conditions in global markets.
PIF Supports Saudi Vision 2030:
PIF plays an important role in Saudi Vision 2030. The plan aims to reduce Saudi Arabia’s dependence on oil and create new sources of economic growth.
Between 2021 and 2025, PIF invested more than $199 billion inside Saudi Arabia. During the same period, its activities contributed more than $342 billion to the country’s real non-oil GDP. In 2025 alone, PIF contributed around 11% of Saudi Arabia’s total non-oil GDP. This shows how important the fund has become to the country’s economic plans.
PIF Expands Its Investments:
PIF also continued to find new ways to raise money. In 2025, it issued its first euro-denominated green bond and created a commercial paper program for short-term financing. The fund also maintained strong credit ratings from major agencies, including Moody’s and Fitch. These ratings reflect confidence in its financial strength.
What PIF’s Growth Means for Saudi Arabia:
The latest results show that Saudi PIF is becoming a major force behind Saudi Arabia’s economic transformation. The fund is investing in new industries while helping the country prepare for a future that relies less on oil.
With more than $900 billion under management, PIF is now one of the world’s largest investment funds. Its future investments could play an even bigger role in shaping Saudi Arabia’s economy.
