Pakistani Government is still in the process of formulating a regulatory framework for LEO satellite landing rights for internet services. The country has been struggling with slow internet since last year.
On Sunday, Elon Musk replied to a post by a Pakistani girl on X (formerly known as Twitter). “We are waiting for approval from the government of Pakistan.”
According to Report: These satellites may interfere in the local frequency so a comprehensive policy is being prepared covering all aspects.
Geosynchronous orbit (GSO) satellites travel around the Earth at a height of about 3,600 km. On the other hand, LEO satellites are much closer, orbiting between 300 and 500 kilometers above the ground level. Satellites can directly provide internet services to both individuals and businesses.
Facilitated by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) through Transworld Associates as the landing party, the cable is part of a global initiative involving Meta and Vodafone.
