Nicegram, an independent messaging client built on the Telegram API, has moved beyond basic chat functionality by adding tools tied to digital identity and professional networking. Users keep access to their existing Telegram accounts and conversations while gaining extra features around productivity, privacy, security, and verification.
Among the newer additions are NiceID and NiceScore, which the developers describe as identity and reputation mechanisms linked to a user’s Telegram handle. NiceID is meant to serve as a persistent, verifiable identifier, and NiceScore functions more like a trust rating, built from factors such as completed transactions, escrow history, and peer feedback. Nicegram says the goal behind both is to cut down on impersonation and reduce fraudulent interactions inside the app, though NiceID remains listed as still under development at this stage.

Several other additions line up alongside these identity tools, including professional profiles, escrow-based payments and a non-custodial multichain wallet. Together they point toward a user base that handles business or freelance work through Telegram, not just casual messaging. Nicegram maintains that it runs independently from Telegram itself while staying compatible with the platform’s updates, and parts of its codebase are open source and available for public review.
No detailed figures have been published on how widely these identity features are actually used, and claims about their fraud-prevention effectiveness haven’t been independently confirmed. Reputation-based systems built on top of messaging apps tend to raise similar questions elsewhere too, particularly around how scores get calculated and how disputes get sorted out when something goes wrong.
Broader movement toward identity and trust layers is fairly common now among messaging and Web3-adjacent apps trying to merge communication with verification. Nicegram hasn’t given a timeline for when NiceID’s development will wrap up or how far these features might expand from here.
