Skipper Mohammad Rizwan and senior batter Babar Azam are expected to meet Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi in the coming days.
The meeting is aimed at addressing concerns over their exclusion from the T20I squad and Rizwan’s limited influence as captain.
According to a senior PCB official, Rizwan was unhappy with the decision to drop him and Babar for the five-match T20I series, which saw a younger side led by new captain Salman Agha.
Sources close to Rizwan confirmed that the wicketkeeper-batter is seeking clarity on the selection choices and wishes to discuss his future role in the team.

Rizwan, who was appointed white-ball captain in October last year, was previously rested for the Zimbabwe T20Is but returned to lead the side in South Africa.
Following the 3-0 loss in New Zealand, he expressed frustration over not being consulted before being dropped from the T20I squad.
Insiders also revealed a disagreement between Rizwan and interim head coach Aaqib Javed regarding team composition in the first two matches.
Rizwan had reportedly pushed for five specialist bowlers, but the team instead used part-timers Salman Agha and Irfan Khan, who conceded 118 runs between them.

The selection backfired and contributed to Pakistan’s defeats.
Sources further claimed that Rizwan may request greater say in selecting the playing eleven and, if denied, could consider stepping down from his ODI leadership role.
Meanwhile, the PCB is said to be in talks with foreign coaching candidates to replace Javed, with some former national players also under consideration.
With the Pakistan Super League ongoing and a T20I series against Bangladesh scheduled after May 18, Rizwan hopes to settle these issues before international action resumes.
