Kane Williamson is expected to link up with Karachi Kings later this month during Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10.

The former New Zealand captain, who was picked by the franchise during the draft, is likely to arrive in Pakistan on April 23 or 24, according to team sources.

Despite being part of the squad, Williamson remains unavailable for the opening fixtures due to his commentary duties in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL).

As a result, he has already missed the first match and will sit out at least four more.

To fill the temporary gap, Karachi Kings have brought in Pakistan Under-19 captain Saad Baig.

The young wicketkeeper-batter joined the side during their opening clash against Multan Sultans.

Led by newly appointed captain David Warner, the Kings began their campaign with an impressive win, chasing down a massive target of 235 runs at the National Bank Cricket Stadium.

The chase was anchored by a stunning 142-run partnership between James Vince and Khushdil Shah.

Vince played a standout knock, hammering 101 off just 43 balls, while Khushdil supported with a brisk 60 from 38 deliveries.

Their partnership helped the Kings recover from early pressure.

After both were dismissed in the 19th over, Muhammad Irfan Khan and Abbas Afridi guided the side to victory with a composed finish, reaching the target with two balls to spare.

Earlier, Multan Sultans had posted a commanding 234 for 3, with captain Mohammad Rizwan scoring an unbeaten 105 off 63 balls.

Michael Bracewell added late fireworks with a quick 44*, helping the Sultans set a challenging total.

Karachi Kings will now face Lahore Qalandars in their second outing, scheduled for Tuesday.
