Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar stirred up major concerns early Wednesday morning by revealing that Pakistan has solid intelligence suggesting India may carry out a military strike within the next 24 to 36 hours.

Taking to social media platform X, Tarar warned that India might use the recent Pahalgam incident as an excuse to launch the attack.

He firmly stated that any aggression would be met with a strong and decisive response, stressing that India would be solely responsible for any fallout that affects regional stability.

In an official statement released by the Pakistani government, Tarar criticized India for playing the role of “judge, jury, and executioner” in the region. He emphasised that Pakistan, having suffered greatly from terrorism, condemns it in all forms, anywhere in the world.

He further mentioned that Pakistan had offered a fair and transparent investigation into the Pahalgam attack, proposing a neutral team of international experts. But instead of choosing diplomacy and reason, India seemed to be leaning toward confrontation—something Pakistan says could have disastrous consequences for the entire region.

According to Tarar, India’s refusal to allow an impartial investigation speaks volumes about its true intentions. He accused India of manipulating public emotions to serve political goals, calling it dangerous and irresponsible.

He made it clear that any act of war from India would not go unanswered. He also urged the international community to stay alert, stating that if things escalate, the responsibility will lie squarely with India. Tarar ended with a strong message: Pakistan will defend its sovereignty at any cost.

Meanwhile, the tension grew even more intense after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a top-level security meeting following the attack in Pahalgam that left 26 people dead. During the meeting, he gave the Indian military full freedom to respond however and whenever they saw fit.

Indian officials present included top defense and security chiefs. Reports suggest Modi reiterated his tough stance on terrorism and told the military they had complete authority over timing, method, and targets.

On the other side, Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif also raised alarms, saying in multiple interviews that an Indian military operation seems imminent. He confirmed that Pakistan has already deployed extra troops and made key strategic decisions in response.

Speaking on a local TV show, Asif warned that “the clouds of war” were gathering fast and that a conflict between the two countries could break out within days. He made it clear that Pakistan is on high alert and will defend itself with full force. While he didn’t mention nuclear weapons directly, he said they would only come into play if Pakistan’s existence were under direct threat.
