Addressing a large public gathering in Sukkur, Bilawal lashed out at India’s actions, stating, “Baharat has attacked Sindhu [Indus]. We condemned the terrorist attack in occupied Kashmir, but Modi has leveled baseless accusations against Pakistan.”

Standing firm by the banks of the Sindhu River, Bilawal declared:

“The Indus is ours and will remain ours. Either our water will flow through it—or their blood.”

The PPP chairman vowed that the struggle to safeguard the Indus would persist until India reversed its decision. He reaffirmed PPP’s full support for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s stance on the critical water issue, emphasizing national unity.

Highlighting the river’s deep connection with Pakistan’s identity, Bilawal said,

“Our people have been the custodians of this river for thousands of years. We are its rightful heirs, and we will defend it with our lives.”

Touching upon the canals issue, Bilawal congratulated the people for their peaceful struggle, celebrating the federal government’s decision that no new canals would be built without consensus in the Council of Common Interests (CCI).

He explained that previously, a majority vote could approve canal projects without public input.

“But thanks to PM Shehbaz Sharif, who respected your concerns, now no canals can be constructed without your consent,” Bilawal noted.

Concluding his fiery address, Bilawal announced that the PPP would organize a grand public gathering in Mirpurkhas in May, signaling that the party’s campaign to defend Pakistan’s water rights is only gaining momentum.
