The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast more rain in various parts of the country, cautioning about possible flooding and landslides in vulnerable areas.

According to the department, heavy showers are expected tonight in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the Potohar region, Kashmir, and nearby hilly areas. On Saturday, these locations are likely to receive more intense rainfall.

Northeastern and southern Balochistan, southern Punjab, and southeastern Sindh may also experience rain tomorrow evening or night, accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms.

The forecast warns that heavy downpours could trigger flooding in local streams and nullahs in upper KP, Potohar, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and northeastern Punjab. In mountainous regions such as KP, Murree, Galliyat, and Kashmir, landslides may disrupt traffic.

The Met Office has also cautioned that strong winds and thunderstorms could damage weak infrastructure, mud houses, power lines, and billboards.

Rain is expected in several KP districts including Dir, Chitral, Swat, Abbottabad, and Peshawar. In Punjab, most districts will remain hot and humid, but areas like Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Faisalabad may see rain with wind and thunderstorms. Southern Punjab, including Multan and Dera Ghazi Khan, could receive showers tomorrow night.

In Sindh, Karachi, Tharparkar, and Dadu are likely to see rain, while in Balochistan, areas like Zhob, Sibi, and Khuzdar may receive showers. Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan will remain cloudy, with heavy rain in some spots.

Over the past 24 hours, Lower Dir recorded 98 mm of rain, while Dalbandin and Nokundi were the hottest at 43°C.
