The verification process for matriculation and intermediate certificates in Sindh is moving to an online platform, following a new directive issued by the Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC).

According to the notification, sealed envelopes containing academic certificates will no longer be accepted for verification purposes. Instead, all verifications will now be carried out through a centralized digital system designed to improve efficiency and reduce the risk of forgery.

The IBCC has directed all educational boards across Sindh to integrate with its online platform to streamline the verification process. Officials believe the move will enhance transparency and help curb document fraud.

At present, the digital system is operational in the Karachi Matric Board, Sukkur Education Board, and Ziauddin Board. These boards have already begun processing certificate verifications electronically.

The remaining boards in the province have been urged to digitize their records without delay. The IBCC has emphasized the importance of complete and timely integration to ensure a smooth transition to the new verification framework.

This shift is seen as part of broader efforts to modernize administrative processes within Pakistan’s education sector. By eliminating physical handling of documents, authorities aim to save time for applicants and reduce bottlenecks in certificate validation.

The online system is expected to be particularly beneficial for students applying to higher education institutions or foreign universities, where swift and authentic document verification is often a requirement.

Educational boards have been advised to ensure their staff are trained for the new system and provide necessary support to applicants during the transition phase.
