Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved a comprehensive education relief package for students in flood-hit districts, including tuition and admission fee waivers.

The package aims to ensure uninterrupted education for students by easing financial pressures on families struggling with post-disaster recovery and rehabilitation efforts.

One key feature includes waiving first semester tuition fees for all students from the affected areas, providing immediate relief to vulnerable households facing financial difficulties.

Additionally, first-year BS students in flood-hit districts will be exempted from paying admission fees, allowing broader access to higher education despite difficult conditions.

Students in Muzaffargarh, Multan, Lodhran, Vehari, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Chiniot, and Kasur will receive exemptions from first-year fees under the special relief initiative.

The provincial government has extended the deadline for university registrations in flood-affected areas by 20 days, ensuring students get ample time for enrollment.

Furthermore, the deadline to apply for the Punjab “Honhaar Scholarship” has been extended by a month, allowing deserving students additional opportunities for financial assistance.

Maryam Nawaz emphasized that education should not suffer because of calamities, assuring students that government support will continue to protect their academic future.

She added that the provincial administration is committed to restoring educational activities in flood-hit areas as part of its broader recovery and relief strategy.
