Users Face Slow Internet Across the Country Today

Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has started maintenance work on part of the country’s submarine communication cable, which could affect internet speed across Pakistan today.

According to PTCL, the repair work began at 11 a.m. on October 14, 2025, and will continue for about 18 hours. During this time, users might notice slower browsing, buffering while watching videos, or short-term internet disconnections.

The company explained that an international cable consortium is carrying out this repair to fix a faulty repeater, a device that helps keep internet signals strong and stable. PTCL’s engineering team is working together with global experts to reduce the impact on users as much as possible.

A PTCL spokesperson apologized for the inconvenience and said that this repair work is necessary to maintain long-term network stability and improve internet performance in the future.

The spokesperson added, “We understand that users may face some difficulty, but this maintenance will help provide a smoother and faster internet experience once the work is complete.”

Once the repair is completed users can expect stronger connectivity, faster browsing, and overall improved internet performance nationwide.
