Fuel prices in Pakistan have reached historic levels today due to rising tensions in the Middle East, which have made global oil much more expensive.

New Prices

  • Petrol: Now Rs458 per litre.
  • Diesel: Now Rs520 per litre.

Petrol (per litre)

Rs321.17

Rs458.00

High-Speed Diesel (HSD)

Rs335.86

Rs520.00

Finance Ministry sources indicate that while the government absorbed a significant portion of the cost over the last few weeks, the “record jump” of over $46 per barrel in the international market made the current price freeze unsustainable.

Why is this happening?

The conflict in the Middle East is disrupting oil supplies. Because Pakistan imports most of its fuel, these global price jumps directly affect the cost at our petrol pumps. The government stated it can no longer afford to pay the extra costs through subsidies, so they are passing the full price on to the public.
