Dengue Outbreak Worsens in Sindh

The dengue virus has taken a dangerous turn in Sindh province, worrying both health officials and citizens. The Sindh Ministry of Health has confirmed that 13 people have died from dengue since October, bringing the total deaths this year to 20.

Health experts have warned that the rapid rise in cases is alarming and could worsen if not controlled immediately. They have urged the government to launch larva control drives, clean-up campaigns, and public awareness programs to stop the spread.

On October 31, 2025, more than 1,500 new dengue cases were reported in a single day, mainly in Hyderabad and Karachi, the two hardest-hit cities. Actual number of infections may be even higher than reported. So far, Sindh has recorded over 2,700 confirmed cases in 2025, and hospitals are under pressure as more patients arrive daily.

Experts say that people should take preventive steps such as using mosquito repellents, wearing full-sleeve clothing, and keeping their surroundings clean to avoid mosquito breeding.

The dengue situation in Sindh has become a serious health challenge, and without quick action, the number of cases could rise sharply in the coming weeks.
