Cricket Dispute Turns Fatal as Teenager Killed

An argument during a local cricket match in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district led to the death of an 18-year-old player, after he was reportedly attacked with a bat during a heated exchange over the final ball of the game.

The incident occurred in Risalpur village, where two players—identified as Vinesh Sharma and Shakti—engaged in a confrontation at the end of the match. According to police, a case has been registered based on a complaint filed by the victim’s uncle, Mohit Kumar.

The First Information Report (FIR) stated that Vinesh Sharma allegedly hit Shakti multiple times with a cricket bat, causing severe injuries. Mohit Kumar, who was working nearby, rushed to the field upon hearing about the fight. He immediately took the injured youth to the hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Law enforcement officials have deployed a large police force in the village to prevent any unrest, and search operations are underway to locate the accused. Anupshahar Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Ram Karan, confirmed that special teams have been formed to track down Sharma. He assured that the accused would be presented before a court once arrested.

The incident has caused shock in the local community, turning a routine game into a moment of tragedy. Police have appealed for calm while investigations continue.

This is not the first time that a recreational game has taken a violent turn in the region, prompting fresh concerns over growing aggression among youth during sports activities.
