Young Indian cricketer Salil Arora is quickly becoming a name to watch after making his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut in 2026. Salil Arora made his IPL debut on March 28, 2026, against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the iconic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Although he scored a quick 9 runs off just 6 balls, including a six, his confident approach caught the attention of fans and cricket experts. Even in a short innings, he showed signs of his aggressive batting style.

One of the biggest highlights of his career came during the IPL 2026 auction. Sunrisers Hyderabad signed him for ₹1.5 crore, which was five times his base price of ₹30 lakh. The bidding war, especially with top teams like Mumbai Indians, clearly showed how highly he is rated as a young talent in Indian cricket.

Before entering the IPL, Salil Arora had already made a strong impact in domestic cricket. In the 2025-26 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he was Punjab’s top run-scorer. He scored 358 runs at an outstanding strike rate of 198.88, making him one of the most explosive batters of the tournament. His unforgettable performance included a record-breaking unbeaten 125 runs off just 45 balls against Jharkhand, where he reached his century in only 39 deliveries.

He has also proven his skills in longer formats. On his Ranji Trophy debut in 2024 against Madhya Pradesh, he scored a brilliant 101 runs and earned the Player of the Match award. This shows his ability to perform under pressure in all formats of the game.

Born on November 7, 2002, in Amritsar, Punjab, Salil Arora is a right-handed wicketkeeper-batter who has represented Punjab and India Under-19 teams. With his fearless batting and growing experience, he is expected to become one of the future stars of Indian cricket.

As IPL 2026 continues, fans are eager to see more powerful performances from Salil Arora, making him a key player to watch this season.
