In the aftermath of the tragic terrorist attack that targeted individuals preparing for a procession related to Eid Miladun Nabi in the Mastung district, Balochistan’s Caretaker Minister for Information, Jan Achakzai, delivered a powerful message on Sunday. He cautioned that if India is found to be behind the deadly Mastung incident, there will be a “befitting response.” The suicide bombing, which occurred near a mosque and resulted in a staggering death toll of 60, has sent shockwaves across the region.

Speaking at a press conference held in Quetta, Minister Jan Achakzai unequivocally asserted that India is allegedly responsible for orchestrating terror incidents in Balochistan. He vowed that if concrete evidence emerges linking India to the Mastung attack, the state will take decisive action in response.

Furthermore, Minister Achakzai expressed his commitment to reviewing and strengthening the province’s security plan to rectify any existing vulnerabilities. He stated, “The security plan is being restructured from the ground up, and we will not hesitate to conduct intelligence-based operations (IBOs) throughout the province if necessary.”

In a resolute tone, the minister highlighted that there is an ongoing concerted effort to destabilize the country, emphasizing that the government is determined to pursue those who plan and execute anti-Pakistan activities.

Turning his attention to the government’s response to the tragedy, Minister Achakzai announced that the families of the martyrs from the Mastung incident would receive financial support. Each martyr’s family will be provided with Rs1.5 million to aid them during this difficult time. Additionally, individuals who sustained critical injuries will receive Rs500,000, while those with minor injuries will be granted Rs250,000 in compensation.

Achakzai added, “We will also seek assistance from the federal government to contribute to the relief package for the affected families.” He reassured the public that every effort would be made to support and assist the affected families to the fullest extent possible.

Addressing the issue of currency smuggling and hoarding, the information minister referred to Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir’s recent visit to Quetta. He commended the COAS for his unwavering determination to combat terrorism, stating, “During his visit, the army chief reaffirmed his commitment to eradicating all forms of terrorism.”

Minister Achakzai emphasized that, in alignment with the vision of the army chief and Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, the government is dedicated to curbing all forms of smuggling, including the illegal transportation of currency.

As the investigation into the Mastung terrorist attack continues, Minister Jan Achakzai’s words serve as a testament to the government’s resolute stance against those who seek to destabilize the region. The promise of a “befitting response” in the event of India’s involvement underscores the seriousness with which Pakistan views its national security. The support pledged to the victims’ families demonstrates a commitment to providing solace and assistance during these challenging times.

The government’s unwavering dedication to eradicating terrorism and addressing issues such as currency smuggling reflects its determination to ensure peace and stability in the region. As the nation mourns the loss of lives in the Mastung tragedy, it also looks forward to a future where such incidents are prevented through strong security measures and international cooperation.
