Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan on Monday expressed optimism about the potential release of PTI founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan ahead of Eidul Adha, calling for patience and faith among the party’s supporters.
Addressing reporters in Islamabad, Barrister Gohar acknowledged growing concerns among party members regarding Imran Khan’s prolonged incarceration but urged them to remain hopeful and committed to lawful means of struggle.

“We understand the emotions and dedication of our workers. It’s natural to question the continued detention of our leader. But I appeal to everyone to stay calm and trust in Allah and the legal process,” he said.
Imran Khan, who has been imprisoned since 2023 in connection with multiple legal cases, continues to show unwavering resolve, Gohar added. “His faith remains strong. He seeks strength through prayer and maintains hope for justice,” he stated.
Referring to the nearly two-year-long campaign for Imran Khan’s release, the PTI chairman said the party had consistently raised the issue in and outside parliament, including through protests and sit-ins. “This is not just a political battle; it’s a moral and legal one,” he emphasised.

Gohar noted that the party’s legal teams were actively working to ensure court proceedings move forward based on merit. “We are pushing for fair verdicts. The goal isn’t just release but complete exoneration,” he added.
When asked about internal dissatisfaction among PTI ranks, he conceded that frustration was growing. “Of course, people are tired. It has been an exhausting journey. But discipline and patience remain critical. We cannot lose focus on our constitutional and legal avenues,” Gohar said.
The statement has reignited discussions among PTI supporters and political analysts about whether the judiciary might expedite proceedings in the coming weeks and what a potential release could mean for Pakistan’s political landscape ahead of Eidul Adha 2025.
