President Asif Ali Zardari honoured several Pakistanis and foreign nationals with civil awards. The grand ceremony held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad. The ceremony recognized people for their outstanding services in literature, sports, music, television, public service, and bravery.
Pakistan’s highest civilian award is the Nishan-e-Pakistan, which was established in 1957. The award is given to individuals who achieve excellence in their fields.
Pride of Performance Award:
Popular Pakistani actor Zahid Ahmed got the Pride of Performance Award from the president. He got this award because he did a good job in Pakistans television industry. He was specially praised for his unforgettable role in the drama “Ishq Zahe Naseeb”, where he played the complex character of Sameer and Sameera.
Hilal-e-Imtiaz Award:
Shahid Afridi got the Hilal-e-Imtiaz award. He got it for his services to sports and humanitarian work.
Sitara-e-Imtiaz Award:
Singer Hadiqa Kiani received the Sitara-e-Imtiaz for her contributions to music and charity work.
Tamgha-e-Imtiaz Award:
Fazila Qazi got the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz Award. She got it because she worked hard in Pakistans television industry for a long time.
Karachi Civil Award Ceremony:
There was another ceremony in Karachi. Governor Nehal Hashmi gave awards to actress Savera Nadeem and some other personalities.
Peshawar Civil Award Ceremony:
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi gave an award to Sana Mir. She got the Sitara-i-Imtiaz award because she did things in sports.
Pakistan Celebrates Talent and Excellence:
The civil awards ceremony was a deal for Pakistan and for the people who got awards like the Pride of Performance Award and the Hilal-e-Imtiaz award and the Sitara-e-Imtiaz award. Pakistan is happy to have people, like Zahid Ahmed and Shahid Afridi and Hadiqa Kiani who make the country proud.
