Masoud Pezeshkian Pakistan Visit Focuses on Peace and Regional Cooperation

Iranian President Masoud Pezishkian completed a one-day official visit to Pakistan on Tuesday, June 23, 2026. The visit was primarily to express gratitude for Pakistan’s role as a mediator in the peace talks between Iran and the United States. This was Dr. Pezishkian’s second official visit to Pakistan after August 2025.

President Pezishkian began his address with the verses of the renowned poet Allama Muhammad Iqbal. He said that Pakistan is not just a neighboring country for us but a brotherly and friendly country. There are deep historical, cultural and religious ties between the two countries and these ties bring our nations closer.

Pezishkian said that the two neighboring countries are committed to new opportunities for cooperation based on common interests.

He added that peace, stability, development and well-being of nations in West Asia and the Persian Gulf region can only be ensured through interregional cooperation and mutual assistance.

The Iranian president said he was confident that Muslims would form a united front against their enemies. He suggested that Muslim countries should form a new security structure.

He added that the great capabilities of Islamabad and Tehran, as well as the political will of the leaders, could present a successful model of solidarity and brotherhood between Iran and Pakistan.
