The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) emerged as the largest party in the Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly elections after winning 11 seats. The party contested 24 seats in the election.
In a post on X, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari thanked the people of Gilgit for their trust and congratulated party workers on their victory. Bilawal captioned his post in beautiful way: “Arrows raining down in Gilgit.”
Victory areas:
Gilgit-I:
PPP candidate Amjad Hussain won over MWM candidate Muhammad Ilyas Siddiqui.
Skardu-I:
Syed Tauqeer Mehdi won the seat۔
Shigar:
Imran Nadeem won the seat after securing 8,893 votes.
Kharmang:
Iqbal Hassan secured victory with 4,915 votes.
A total of 403 candidates, including 8 women, were in the fray in the election, while more than 963,000 registered voters cast their votes.
