Veteran actress and beloved Pakistani icon Bushra Ansari has stirred social media with her unapologetic and pointed response to Indian lyricist and poet Javed Akhtar, following his controversial remarks about Pakistan during recent public appearances.

Currently touring Germany and Switzerland for charitable events, Bushra Ansari released a passionate video addressing not only Akhtar’s statements but also broader issues surrounding India’s treatment of Pakistani citizens and its divisive rhetoric.

In the video, which has quickly gone viral, Ansari did not mince her words. She called out India’s decision to grant visas to Pakistani-origin women only to later expel them, questioning the country’s diplomatic contradictions. “Why did you give them visas in the first place?” she asked.

Taking direct aim at Javed Akhtar, Ansari remarked:

“You don’t even believe in Allah, yet you speak so arrogantly about Pakistan. You’re old enough to be reflecting on your legacy. At least behave like Naseeruddin Shah—he stays quiet.”

She also criticized Indian media figures like Arnab Goswami, calling him a “psycho case,” and slammed retired Indian military officials for their persistent anti-Pakistan narratives on news channels.

Despite her sharp rebuke, Ansari emphasized a key distinction:

“This is not about the people. Ordinary Indians are kind, loving, and peace-seeking. It’s the governments and certain loud individuals who create division.”

She shared a heartwarming anecdote about meeting a young Indian woman during her travels who expressed genuine love for Pakistan and its people.

The video has drawn widespread support in Pakistan and among the diaspora:

  • “Bushra Apa said what needed to be said.”

  • “Finally, a dignified response to Javed Akhtar’s endless jabs.”

  • “She’s bold, brilliant, and speaks the truth.”

Bushra Ansari’s words have reignited debate on celebrity diplomacy, freedom of speech, and the role of art and culture in de-escalating geopolitical tensions.
