Mexico City’s Adhara Pérez Sánchez is an 11-year-old space prodigy with exceptional intelligence, surpassing even Einstein and Hawking in IQ scores. Sánchez, who was diagnosed with autism at the age of three, faced numerous challenges growing up in the low-income neighborhood of Tláhuac.
However, her incredible talent in mathematics was noticed by her mother, Nayeli Sánchez, who enrolled her in the Center for Attention to Talent (CEDAT), a school for gifted children. There, Adhara’s IQ was measured at an astonishing 162.
Despite facing bullying from her classmates, Sanchez’s passion for space exploration began when she saw Stephen Hawking’s artwork at her doctor’s office. This inspired her interest in mathematics and science, and she set her sights on becoming an astronaut for NASA with a dream of exploring Mars.
Education
Sanchez finished elementary school at the age of five, middle and high school at six, and has already obtained a bachelor’s degree in systems engineering. Currently, she is pursuing a master’s program in mathematics at the Technological University of Mexico.
Sanchez is working with the Mexican Space Agency to promote space exploration and mathematics to other young girls. She is also working on finishing her G-tests, which will enable her to man flights through an agency with connections to NASA. If she passes, she will be around 17 years old and the first autistic person to fly. Sánchez is already well-known and has appeared on several magazine covers, including Marie Claire.
Adhara was offered a scholarship to study astrophysics at the University of Arizona, but her plans were deferred due to visa issues. However, she continues to work towards her goals and hopes to make a significant impact in the field of space exploration. If she passes her G-tests.
Despite the challenges she has faced, Adhara’s determination and resilience have inspired people around the world. She continues to break barriers and shatter stereotypes, showing that with hard work and dedication, anything is possible.
