Fire Breaks Out at Gul Plaza in Karachi

A massive fire broke out at Gul Plaza shopping mall on MA Jinnah Road in Karachi late Saturday night, leaving two people dead and at least seven others injured. The fire caused panic in the busy commercial area and led to an emergency response from rescue teams.

A massive fire broke out at Gul Plaza shopping mall on MA Jinnah Road in Karachi late Saturday night, leaving two people dead and at least seven others injured. The fire caused panic in the busy commercial area and led to an emergency response from rescue teams.

The blaze spread quickly inside the shopping mall, making rescue efforts difficult. Fire brigade teams rushed to the scene and worked for hours to control the flames. Ambulances also arrived to shift the injured to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.

Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar took notice of the incident and issued immediate instructions to concerned authorities. He directed officials to divert traffic to alternative routes so citizens could move safely and rescue vehicles could reach the site without delay.

In his statement, the home minister stressed the need for a detailed investigation to find out the exact cause of the fire. He said it was important to determine whether safety rules were followed in the building and if any negligence was involved.

Ziaul Hassan Lanjar also ordered that the affected building be properly secured. He said this step was necessary to stop the fire from spreading to nearby structures and to protect people living and working in the area.

Officials were instructed to clear surrounding roads so fire brigade vehicles could operate smoothly. Police personnel were deployed to manage traffic and keep people away from the dangerous zone.

Fires in commercial buildings remain a serious concern in Karachi, especially in crowded areas. Authorities have once again urged building owners to follow fire safety rules strictly to prevent such tragic incidents.

Rescue operations continued late into the night as officials assessed the damage and ensured the area was safe.
