The District Police Officer (DPO) Rauf Kesrani confirmed that the incident occurred while vehicles from Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s convoy were refueling in the Yarak area. Fortunately, the politician was not present during the attack. This development comes in the wake of a warning issued by the interior ministry regarding serious threats to the lives of Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Awami National Party provincial president Aimal Wali Khan.

The JUI-F spokesperson, Aslam Ghauri, has condemned the incident, labeling it as a “cowardly act” and questioning the lack of action despite repeated warnings and daily threat reports.

The interior ministry’s letter, which highlighted the serious threats to the lives of Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Aimal, emphasized the need for heightened caution and vigilance, urging necessary security arrangements to avert any untoward incidents.

The JUI-F spokesperson, Aslam Ghauri, stressed that such threats have become routine for the party’s leaders, impacting their election campaign activities.
