Virat Kohli Returns to Top of ICC ODI Batting Rankings

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released its latest player rankings, bringing major changes across formats. The biggest highlight is India’s Virat Kohli, who has reclaimed the number one position among ODI batters after a gap of four years.

Kohli moved ahead of his teammate Rohit Sharma to regain the top spot. This is the eleventh time in his long and successful career that he has reached number one in ODI rankings. Cricket fans around the world have welcomed his return to the top, praising his consistency and experience. New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell also made strong progress, climbing to second place in the ODI batting rankings.

Pakistan’s players also showed improvement, especially in the T20 format. Sahibzada Farhan moved up one position and now sits at fifth place among T20 batters. Another positive development for Pakistan was Salman Agha, who jumped an impressive 13 spots to reach 41st position. His recent performances have helped him gain recognition at the international level.

Among bowlers in T20 cricket, Salman Mirza made a notable rise. He climbed 16 places to reach 19th position, showing strong form and growing impact with the ball.

In Test cricket, England’s Joe Root continues to dominate the batting rankings and has held on to the number one spot. Australia’s Travis Head stands in third position, while his teammate Steve Smith is placed fourth, keeping Australia well represented in the top rankings.

The latest ICC rankings reflect recent performances and highlight the return of senior players as well as the rise of new talent. These changes add excitement ahead of upcoming international series across all formats.
