The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has unveiled its central contracts list for 2025, reinstating a grade-based salary structure.

Taskin Ahmed has been placed in the highest category, A+, making him the only player in this bracket.

He is set to receive a monthly salary of BDT 1 million (USD 8,200 approx.).

The shift from a format-based contract system was made to ensure better financial compensation for Test cricketers, a move confirmed by BCB Cricket Operations Chairman Najmul Abedeen Fahim.

Under the previous system, Test specialists were reportedly underpaid.

Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto, along with Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Litton Das, and Mushfiqur Rahim, has been assigned to Grade A, with each earning BDT 800,000 (USD 6,600 approx.) per month.

Mushfiqur, however, will move to Grade B following his ODI retirement, with a salary of BDT 600,000 (USD 4,900 approx.).

Meanwhile, Mahmudullah has opted out of the central contract after February 2025, while players like Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudul Hasan Joy have not been included this year.
