Indian cricketer Shubman Gill has clarified that he has been single for more than three years, dismissing ongoing speculation about his personal life.
Gill, who is currently captaining Gujarat Titans in the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL), has often found himself linked with a well-known Bollywood actress and the daughter of a cricket legend. However, he said in a recent interview that such rumours were baseless and sometimes involved people he had never even met.
The 25-year-old explained that he had been hearing stories about himself and various individuals without any truth behind them. He described some of the claims as so absurd that they made little sense to him.
Gill also pointed out that his demanding cricket career leaves him with little room for a relationship. He mentioned that professional commitments keep players on the move for almost 300 days a year, making it nearly impossible to invest time in a personal relationship.

Highlighting the intensity of his focus on cricket, Gill said that he remains fully dedicated to his game. He added that while playing, it is difficult to even notice crowd chants or distractions from the stands, as the attention stays locked on the task at hand.
Gill’s comments come at a time when he is leading his IPL side and working hard to strengthen his position as one of India’s future stars. His statement appears to set the record straight, reinforcing that his current priority is his career rather than personal matters.
The young batter’s straightforward response offers a glimpse into the sacrifices demanded by top-level sport and how athletes often have to sideline their personal lives to chase their dreams.
