ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, New Zealand’s Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra etched their names in cricket history by both achieving centuries on their World Cup debuts. The cricketing world witnessed their extraordinary performances as they contributed significantly to New Zealand’s convincing victory over defending champions England.

Devon Conway, making his ODI debut in the opening match of the tournament, left spectators in awe with a sensational century. His masterful innings of 152* runs, which came off just 83 deliveries, included an impressive 13 fours and two sixes. This remarkable achievement placed him in an elite group of players who have scored centuries on their World Cup debut.

The duo’s incredible centuries played a pivotal role in New Zealand’s chase of a challenging target of 283 runs set by the defending champions. They achieved this remarkable victory with ease, winning by a convincing margin of 9 wickets.

For New Zealand, a team that finished as runners-up in the 2019 ICC World Cup, this electrifying start with the bat in the 2023 tournament sends a strong message to their competitors. With Conway and Ravindra leading the way, the Kiwis have set a high standard for the matches ahead.
