Azam Siddique, the father of Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam, has come out in strong support of his son amid mounting criticism over his recent performances.
Babar, currently facing one of the most challenging periods of his career, has come under intense scrutiny following a disappointing Champions Trophy campaign.
After being dropped from Pakistan’s squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against New Zealand, Azam Siddique took to social media to express his belief in Babar’s ability to bounce back.

He posted on Instagram, highlighting that despite Babar’s inclusion in the ICC T20 Team of the Year, his drop from the squad was not a setback, emphasizing his son’s potential to perform in the National T20 and PSL.
In response to the criticism, Siddique urged former players to carefully consider their words, cautioning them that Babar would not tolerate unwarranted remarks.
His defense comes amid harsh comments from figures like Shoaib Akhtar, who labeled Babar a “fraud,” and Mohammad Hafeez, who questioned his ability to perform in challenging conditions.
Despite recent struggles, including poor performances in the tri-nation series and Champions Trophy, Babar’s father remains confident that his son will prove his critics wrong during upcoming series.
