Babar Azam reached a major milestone during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 clash against India in Dubai.

The former captain become only the third Pakistani to score over 1,000 runs in 50-over ICC tournaments.

The right-hander only managed to score 23 runs off 26 balls, striking five boundaries against the arch-rivals.

While his innings was short-lived, it was enough to etch his name alongside legendary batters Saeed Anwar and Javed Miandad.

Anwar remains Pakistan’s highest run-scorer in ICC ODI tournaments with 1,204 runs, followed by Miandad with 1,083.

Babar now joins them with 1,014 runs. He achieved this feat in just 24 innings, making him the fastest Pakistani to reach the milestone.

He surpassed Anwar, who took 25 innings, while Miandad reached the mark in 30 innings.
