The Sindh cabinet has approved amendments to upper age limit rules for government job applicants, offering relief to candidates facing employment delays.
The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah, at the CM House on Saturday.
Under the (Relaxation of Upper Age Limit) Rules, Government employees with two years of service can get up to five years’ age relaxation.
General candidates may receive up to two years relaxation from the administrative department and up to five years from the services and general administration department.
Widows, divorced women, disabled individuals, and children of deceased civil servants can get up to five years’ age relaxation.
Additionally, the cabinet approved a broader relaxation policy due to persistent recruitment delays and a surge in applications.
A general age relaxation of up to five years beyond the maximum limit applies to all departments, except police and Sindh Public Service Commission posts.
The relaxation period from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2026, aims to address concerns over age limits and recruitment delays.
