Hajj is the pillar of Islam. It teaches patience, unity, humility and complete trust in Allah. It brings Muslims from countries, cultures and languages together. Hajj takes place every year during Dhul Hijjah, 12th month of the Islamic calendar. Muslims who can afford it and are physically able are required to perform Hajj at once in their lifetime.
For Hajj 2026 around 2.5 to 2.6 million pilgrims are expected to attend in Saudi Arabia. Preparations are already underway. Pilgrims from across the world are arriving for this religious gathering.
The Saudi government has made security arrangements for Hajj 2026. Than 40,000 to 45,000 security personnel have been deployed. Their job is to manage the crowds and help keep pilgrims safe at Masjid al-Haram and other holy sites.
Some countries are sending numbers of pilgrims this year.
Indonesia has a quota of 221,000 pilgrims.
Pakistan follows with 179,210 pilgrims.
India has a quota of 175,000 pilgrims.
Bangladesh will send than 127,000 pilgrims for Hajj 2026.
One of the important things introduced for Hajj 2026 is the mandatory Nusuk Card. The Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah issues this card. Every registered pilgrim must carry it during Hajj.
The Nusuk Card works as both an digital identity card. It has personal information, medical details and accommodation data of each pilgrim. The card helps authorities identify pilgrims and provide services quickly.
Pilgrims must carry the Nusuk Card at all times during Hajj. It is not an ID card. It is a tool used throughout the pilgrimage. The card allows pilgrims to enter sites like Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifah.
Saudi authorities say the card will improve safety and organization during Hajj. If a pilgrim gets lost officials can scan the card. They can find the pilgrims address, transport details and group gathering point.
Technology is playing a role in Hajj every year. The Nusuk Card is part of Saudi Arabia’s efforts. They want to make Hajj safer, smoother and more organized.
Despite the crowds Hajj remains peaceful and emotional. Pilgrims spend their days praying. They ask for forgiveness. Strengthen their connection, with Allah. May Allah grant all of us Muslims the ability to perform at least one Hajj in our lifetime. (Amen)
