The School Education Department (SED) of Punjab has rejected a notification circulating on social media claiming to announce the schedule for summer holidays in schools across the province.

A spokesperson for the department clarified on Monday that the document, which suggests summer vacations will begin on 22 May and continue until 17 August 2025, is completely false. The official stressed that no such decision has been made yet and that the notification lacks any authenticity.

Authorities urged parents, students, and school staff not to rely on unofficial sources or forwarded messages. They advised the public to wait for a formal announcement, which will be shared through the department’s verified platforms and official channels once the decision is finalized.

The spokesperson also warned that spreading false information can create unnecessary confusion and may lead to disciplinary action against those responsible.

The department has assured the public that it is closely monitoring the situation and will take prompt action if further misinformation is spread.

In the meantime, schools are expected to continue normal operations until an official directive is issued.

The SED has encouraged the public to verify such news only through its website or official communication platforms.
