Filed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, the plea warns of a potential drone strike by India targeting Adiala Jail, where Imran Khan is currently incarcerated. The petition claims Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi sees Khan as his “greatest adversary” and could resort to extreme measures to retaliate.
“Given India’s recent drone attacks on multiple cities, the life of the PTI founder is under imminent threat in prison,” the petition states. It argues that during his tenure as Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Imran Khan repeatedly exposed Modi on global platforms, which damaged the Indian premier’s international image.

The petition calls the PTI leader’s imprisonment a result of politically motivated cases and contends that his prolonged detention violates his fundamental rights. It emphasizes that the Constitution of Pakistan permits parole in situations where a prisoner’s life or health is in danger.
Gandapur further highlights Khan’s exemplary conduct behind bars, stating he has not violated any prison rules. The plea adds that a formal application had already been submitted to the Punjab Home Department regarding parole, but no action was taken.
The petition references constitutional provisions, international law, and Pakistan’s prison regulations to strengthen the case for Khan’s conditional release. It urges the Islamabad High Court to consider the parole request as a matter of urgency, citing deteriorating health and heightened external threats.
