The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has announced the Commonwealth Scholarship Programme 2025–26, offering opportunities for Pakistani and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) students to pursue master’s and PhD studies in the United Kingdom.

The scholarships are part of a UK government development-focused initiative, run in collaboration with the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC), which has supported international students since 1960.
This year, HEC is offering 26 nominations for master’s programs and 30 for PhD programs. Applicants must be Pakistani or AJK nationals, permanent residents, and meet strict academic criteria, including first division marks in relevant degrees and a minimum score of 60 in the Higher Education Aptitude Test (HAT). Candidates awaiting results are also eligible to apply.
Applications must be submitted via the HEC scholarship portal by October 14, 2025, at 4:00 PM PST.

The program aims to empower scholars with knowledge, skills, and global networks to address international challenges while contributing to Pakistan’s development upon their return. Since its start, the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission has supported over 30,000 scholars from developing countries to study in the UK.
