Pakistan has expressed its support for the United Nations Security Council resolution 2728, which calls for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza during the holy month of Ramadan. The Foreign Office Spokesperson welcomed the resolution, emphasizing the need for the free flow of humanitarian assistance to Gaza, removal of barriers hindering aid delivery, and protection of civilians in the region.

Over the past six months, Pakistan has consistently condemned Israel’s indiscriminate use of force in Gaza. The country has called for an immediate ceasefire, unrestricted humanitarian aid access to the people of Gaza, repatriation of displaced Palestinians, and accountability for Israel’s actions.

Pakistan urges the swift implementation of the Security Council resolution to halt Israel’s aggressive actions, establish a lasting ceasefire, and address the dire humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The country remains committed to advocating for a just and comprehensive solution that includes the creation of a secure, viable, contiguous, and sovereign State of Palestine based on pre-June 1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
