The International Cricket Council (ICC) has refreshed its Elite Panel of Umpires, adding South Africa’s Allahudien Paleker and England’s Alex Wharf.
The two replace Michael Gough and Joel Wilson in the updated list.
Paleker, a former first-class cricketer, has officiated in various international matches, including four Tests, 23 ODIs, and 67 T20Is in men’s cricket, along with 17 women’s internationals.

His experience includes officiating at major ICC tournaments such as the Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 and the Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2024.
Wharf, a former England cricketer who played 13 ODIs, has officiated in seven Tests, 33 ODIs, and 45 T20Is.
His umpiring portfolio includes high-profile ICC events like the Men’s and Women’s Cricket World Cups and the upcoming Men’s Champions Trophy 2025.
ICC Chair Jay Shah extended his congratulations to the new additions while acknowledging the contributions of the outgoing umpires.

He highlighted the high-pressure nature of elite umpiring and expressed confidence in Paleker and Wharf’s ability to meet expectations.
Paleker described his appointment as a proud achievement and credited his mentors, colleagues, and family for their unwavering support.
Wharf also expressed gratitude to the ICC and the ECB, recognizing the guidance he received throughout his career.
