King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz has approved a special program to host 1,000 Umrah pilgrims from different countries at his personal expense. The initiative is part of the Guests of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Program for Hajj, Umrah, and Visit. The program is managed by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance.
First Group of Pilgrims Announced
The first group will include 250 male and female Umrah pilgrims from 16 Asian countries. These countries include Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Mongolia, and several others. The program will continue in four phases during the Islamic year 1448 AH until a total of 1,000 pilgrims have been hosted.
All Expenses Covered
The Saudi government will cover all travel, accommodation, transportation, and other expenses for the guests. This allows selected pilgrims to perform Umrah without worrying about the financial cost.
Every year, King Salman hosts Muslims from around the world through this special initiative. The program also invites scholars, religious leaders, and families of martyrs to visit the holy cities.
A Long Tradition of Service
In November 2024, King Salman approved the hosting of 1,000 Umrah pilgrims from 66 countries under the same program. The latest initiative continues Saudi Arabia’s efforts to serve Muslims and strengthen ties with Islamic communities worldwide.
Minister of Islamic Affairs Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al-Sheikh thanked King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their continued support of Islam and Muslims.
Final Thoughts
The King Salman Umrah Program gives Muslims from different countries a chance to perform Umrah and visit the holy places in Saudi Arabia. It also reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to serving Islam, supporting Muslim communities, and bringing people together through faith and brotherhood.
