According to the National Emergencies Operation Center (NEOC) of the NDMA, the extreme temperatures will primarily affect Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and parts of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK).

  • Punjab: Hot weather is expected to continue across most districts throughout the week.

  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: While hot conditions will prevail, scattered rain and windstorms are likely in districts such as Chitral, Dir, Haripur, Karak, Kohat, Kohistan, Khyber, Kurram, Mansehra, Mohmand, Nowshera, Malakand, Charsadda, Abbottabad, Bannu, Buner, Hazara, Peshawar, Swabi, Swat, and Waziristan.

  • Sindh and Balochistan: These provinces are forecast to experience intense heat and dry conditions with no significant rain expected.

  • GB and AJK: Mostly hot weather, with isolated rainfall predicted in Astore, Skardu, Hunza, Shighar, Bagh, and Neelum Valley between June 13–16 due to a weak western weather system.

Public Safety and Health Advisory

The NDMA has urged the public to take precautionary measures during the forecast period. Citizens, particularly in heatwave-prone regions, should:

  • Stay hydrated.

  • Avoid outdoor activities between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

  • Wear light and breathable clothing.

  • Check on children, the elderly, and individuals with health conditions.

  • Never leave children or pets in parked vehicles.

Travel Alert for Northern Areas

Travelers planning trips to northern or hilly areas are advised to remain informed about changing weather conditions and follow local safety guidelines.

NDMA has stated it is closely monitoring the situation through NEOC and remains in coordination with provincial and district authorities to ensure timely preparedness and response.

For real-time updates and weather alerts, citizens are encouraged to download the NDMA mobile app or follow official communication channels.
