Starting January 1, 2025, Whatsapp will no longer work on Android devices running KitKat (version 4.4) or earlier. By May 5, 2025, iPhones using operating systems earlier than iOS 15.1 will also lose compatibility. Following is The complete list of devices that Whatsapp will not be functional on:

  3. Desire 500
  4. Desire 601

LG:

  1. Optimus G
  2. Nexus 4
  3. G2 Mini
  4. L90

Sony:

  1. Xperia Z
  2. Xperia SP
  3. Xperia T
  4. Xperia V

Affected iPhones

iPhone users with the following models will need to upgrade their devices, as these cannot be updated beyond iOS 12.5.7:

  1. iPhone 5s
  2. iPhone 6
  3. iPhone 6 Plus
