Pakistan’s Saud Shakeel became the seventh batter in first-class cricket history to be dismissed via a timed-out decision.
The incident occurred on the second day of the President’s Trophy final when Shakeel, playing for SBP, arrived late at the crease after two wickets fell in consecutive balls.
PTV captain Amad Butt appealed, and the umpires upheld the decision as Shakeel had exceeded the three-minute limit.
Reports suggest the rapid fall of wickets left Shakeel unprepared. Despite making his way to the crease, he was ruled out under the rare dismissal law.

The last high-profile instance of this came during the 2023 World Cup, when Angelo Mathews was timed out against Bangladesh following an appeal by Shakib Al Hasan.
The dismissal added to a dramatic sequence triggered by Muhammad Shahzad, who removed Umar Amin and Fawad Alam in consecutive deliveries.
Irfan Khan, who replaced Shakeel, was bowled first ball, completing Shahzad’s hat-trick and reducing State Bank from 128 for 1 to 128 for 5.
The final, played at night due to Ramadan, saw PTV bowl out State Bank for 205, with Imran Butt top-scoring with 89.
