PSG Return to Champions League Final

Paris St-Germain booked their place in the UEFA Champions League final for the second time in five years with a composed 2-1 victory over Arsenal on Wednesday night, sealing a 3-1 win on aggregate at the Parc des Princes.

Despite coming under pressure early in the match, the French side held firm and took the lead in the 27th minute when Fabian Ruiz capitalised on a defensive mistake to score his first-ever Champions League goal. Arsenal had started brightly and created several chances, but goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma produced multiple key saves to keep them at bay.

PSG doubled their advantage in the second half when Achraf Hakimi finished off a sharp exchange with Ousmane Dembele, who had just returned from injury. Vitinha had earlier missed a penalty, but the home side remained calm throughout and appeared in control of the tie.

Bukayo Saka gave the visitors a glimmer of hope with a well-taken goal in the 76th minute, but he later missed a golden chance to level the score, sending his effort over the crossbar. That miss ultimately sealed Arsenal’s fate, as they fell short of reaching their first Champions League final since 2006.

Under the guidance of coach Luis Enrique, PSG have evolved into a more balanced and disciplined team. They will now face Inter Milan in the final on 31 May in Munich, after the Italian side edged past Barcelona in a high-scoring semi-final.

Donnarumma’s standout performance and PSG’s clinical finishing proved decisive, as the Ligue 1 champions took another step toward their long-awaited European crown. Arsenal’s impressive run ends in disappointment, but their young squad showed promise on the big stage.
