Pakistan’s Street Child Football Team Begins Training for Norway Cup 2025

A three-month training camp for Pakistan’s Street Child Football Team is currently underway at the Islamabad Sports Complex, as preparations begin for the Norway Cup 2025.

The camp will conclude with the selection of the final squad that will represent Pakistan at the tournament, scheduled to start on 26 July in Oslo. The initiative is part of the ‘Midan Project’, under which football trials were held across 27 districts. Over 2,100 young players participated in these trials.

Out of them, 60 promising players have been shortlisted and are now undergoing focused training in Islamabad. The camp not only provides professional football coaching but also offers full boarding, healthcare, and other essential facilities.

Pakistan’s Street Child Team has gained international recognition in recent years. The team won silver in the 2023 Norway Cup and reached the semi-finals in the 2024 edition, raising hopes for a strong performance in the upcoming tournament.

Officials say the camp is designed to boost the players’ skills, fitness, and teamwork while preparing them mentally for international competition. The Norway Cup remains a vital platform for these underprivileged young athletes to showcase their talent on the global stage.
