The participation of Pakistan in the 2027 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers remains uncertain as the national football team continues to face the suspension from FIFA.

Last week, FIFA suspended the Pakistan Football Federation after its Congress rejected proposed amendments, revoking its membership rights.

As a result, the national football teams are barred from all international competitions until the issue is resolved.

Pakistan is set to compete in Group E alongside Syria, Myanmar, and Afghanistan, with their opening match scheduled against Syria on March 25.

However, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has warned that if the suspension is not lifted by March 4, Pakistan will be deemed to have withdrawn from the qualifiers.

In a letter to PFF, the AFC stressed the urgency of resolving the situation, highlighting the need for adequate preparation time before the qualifiers.

Meanwhile, the national women team has already withdrawn from the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers, set to begin in June.

With no official response from the PFF, the uncertainty surrounding Pakistan’s football future continues, raising concerns over the country’s long-term participation in international tournaments.
