Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir added another milestone to his career after claiming his 400th wicket in T20 cricket during the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) clash between Trinbago Knight Riders and Antigua and Barbuda Falcons.
Amir dismissed Fabian Allen to complete the feat in his 343rd match, making him the second Pakistani after Wahab Riaz to reach the landmark. Riaz leads with 413 wickets, while Amir now ranks ninth globally among T20 wicket-takers.
The achievement, however, was not enough to prevent a Knight Riders defeat. Batting first, the Falcons recovered through a vital 69-run partnership between Allen (45 off 20) and captain Imad Wasim (39 off 27), setting a total of 167-6.
Chasing 168, Trinbago Knight Riders fell short at 159-6 despite strong efforts from Colin Munro (44 off 18) and Kieron Pollard (43* off 28). Keacy Carty contributed 35, but regular wickets kept them behind the chase.
Obed McCoy’s superb 4-39 proved decisive, supported by two wickets each for Rahkeem Cornwall and Shakib Al Hasan.
Amir, along with Akeal Hosein, picked up one wicket apiece, while Usman Tariq and Nathan Edward claimed two each for Trinbago.
