FC Barcelona Secure Hard-Fought Win Over Levante Badalona

FC Barcelona emerged victorious in their away match against Levante Badalona, winning 2-0 to maintain their four-point lead at the top of Liga F. Despite a challenging encounter, goals from Marta Torrejón and Alexia Putellas in the second half sealed the three points.

The match was no easy feat for Barcelona, who, after qualifying for the Champions League final, faced a tough, defensive Levante Badalona side. Barcelona struggled to create clear opportunities in the first half, with shots from Salma and a header from Marta Torrejón failing to break the deadlock. Both goalkeepers, María and Cata Coll, were relatively untested during the opening 45 minutes.

However, the game changed after a series of substitutions in the second half, with Pajor, Alexia, and Aitana bringing fresh energy to the pitch. Despite their influence, it was a well-delivered corner from Claudia Pina that led to the opening goal. Patri and Marta each contributed with headers, putting Barcelona in the lead.

Although Levante Badalona continued to dominate possession, they were unable to capitalize on any further opportunities, as the woodwork and the keeper thwarted their efforts. The match was finally put beyond doubt when Alexia confidently converted a penalty in the final stages.

This crucial win moves Barcelona closer to securing the title, with four points now separating them from second-placed Real Madrid. They will look to maintain their momentum when they host Deportivo Abanca at the Estadi Johan Cruyff on May 4.
